Engineering Best Practices – Your Org

This document describes the default engineering practices for Your Org. It is intended to be committed to each active repository and kept up to date as our processes evolve.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all examples assume the default branch is main.

Repositories & Branching

We currently use a monorepo strategy.

• The main monorepo should contain all actively maintained services and packages.
• New services SHOULD be added to the monorepo unless there is a strong reason not to.

Our branching strategy is trunk-based development.

• All work happens on short-lived feature branches off main.
• Feature branches should be merged back into main once approved and passing checks.
• Long-lived branches are discouraged.
